A Sporting Chance is a 13 year old organization that is committed to developing and providing amateur athletic training, competition and recreational programs for any person with any disability, youth who are disadvantaged,  “At Risk” Teenagers, abused & neglected children and Senior Citizens.  We have also added the “Caring Communities Kids” to our program after they suffered budget cuts.  A Sporting Chance is a local program with no affiliation with any State or National organization.

As is the case with all Not‑For‑Profit Organizations raising funds is an integral part of A Sporting Chance. The 2005 Fiscal Year Budget will be approximately $250,000 and most of the money will be raised doing fund‑raising projects and relying on our business friends for support. We have applied for the 12 years of our existence to become a part of United Way but have not been able to do so by this time.

Adopt An Event

A Sporting Chance has 7 Major Events a year and would like to find up to 7 sponsors that would like to Adopt An Event as their own and provide quality competition for kids who need this type of programming. The concept of Adopting An Event is to find a company or group that would like to give something back to the community. The company's employees and management would then be encouraged to make provide all of the funds needed to fund the program of their choice. The company or group and the employees would then be given an event of their own. The company or group would then benefit by:

Benefits to the Company/Civic Group or Individual

Event Named For Company/Group & Employees

Company/Group Persons Name put on a set of uniforms for that sport in each division

Company/Group would be listed as Presenting Sponsor in all press releases

Company/Group logo on all Medals given to athletes at the State Meet

Employees/Group members could Volunteer at the Event Adopted

Company/Group adoption gives an 8 ‑ 12 week league program to the athletes

Company/Group donation would provide rooms, meals, transportation costs tournaments

Money donated helps pay for facility rental, referees, umpires, equipment, etc.

100 % of all money is spent on athletes

100 % of all money raised stays in Southwest Missouri
